About Imposter Syndrome
This is for all of us who from time to time tend to feel an act as if we were not meant to be there, as if we didn’t deserve what happens to us. Have you been there?
This is exactly what imposter syndrome is about. According to this article from verywellmind.com it is “an internal experience of believing that you are not as competent as others perceive you to be.”
It becomes very important to us first of all to recognize this is human nature to feel this way, and also and most important, don’t let your mind get the best of you and avoid hiding in your shell afraid of the outside world.
This is in fact an outgoing issue for me, since I’ve been struggling with imposter syndrome on several projects I want to create but I’m afraid of not being an expert on them. It comes to a point where I freeze myself and I end up feeling worse than before just because of the voice in my head.
One impactful video I watched this week talks about imposter syndrome and I highly recommend you to watch it, if you haven’t already, Ali Abdaal talks about how he has fought imposter syndrome before and suggests a few resources you can refer to. You can also read my post on Just Start that talks about fighting your own mind and actually start that project you so deeply desire.
No matter how you see yourself now, if you’re struggling with this, know that you’re precious, you’re meant to be here, keep on moving.
“We’re clearly bad judges of our own creations. We should just put them out there and let the world decide.”
