Just Start
I’ve noticed among my friends and from people throughout internet, myself included, there is a mayor desire on making 2020 their year. People have different goals they want to achieve but mostly we want to improve our personal life as well as our professional life.
Either because this is finally the year where they are going to commit losing those overweight pounds, learning a new skill or language, or maybe for some they are actively going to pursue their financial freedom, whether that’s by switching jobs or even starting a side hustle.
Whatever it is that’s strong enough to keep you awake at night, do it. There’s a reason why your mind can’t stop thinking about it, there’s a deep desire within you that fuels those dreams. Pay attention to it.
I know I won’t be the first one to tell you that you don’t need the perfect timing to start. And you probably won’t pay attention to me. I know I didn’t.
If you wait until you’re ready, you’ll be waiting the rest of your life.
I am the kind of person that, when playing a videogame, I will always take a detour before a challenging fight, to overtrain, to gather more resources, until I feel prepared, and even though that strategy can be useful in gaming, it’s not often that effective in life. Trust me, you will never be 100% prepared to what comes after, but the sooner you start, the better.
I wanted to start my own website since 2016, and it wasn’t until this year that I finally did it. My reasons? "I don’t know how to build a website”, guess what? I learned. Still didn’t start it then. “That’s expensive, I can’t afford it”, guess what? It wasn’t that expensive, I could've afford it before. Believe me, if you can’t stop thinking about “what if…” then it’s worth taking the chance to pursue it. You’ll be glad you did it.
"…Actually, as you’ve probably guessed, the best time to start was last year. The second best time to start is right now."
